Hoods and trunk lids

The hood and trunk are popular items for replacement in both street and track vehicles.  For street and show applications, hood and trunk upgrades are predominantly a stylish upgrade.  For track cars the hood and trunk represent added weight in an especially undesirable location – relatively high on the vehicle.  The height of these items makes lightweight replacements especially attractive because they can function to lower the vehicle’s center of gravity thereby increasing handling performance.  For further performance improvements, lightweight vented hoods are offered that help to cool the engine bay and reduce aerodynamic lift on the front end.  Reducing the weight and increasing the style of these items is a win-win upgrade.  

Hoods and trunks are available in lightweight and stylish carbon-fiber as well as other lightweight materials.  For further performance enhancement, vented hoods are offered which function to reduce engine temperatures and reduce aerodynamic lift on the front end.  Some aftermarket hoods will require the use of hood pins or alternative latches, but there are a number of offerings that retain the use of the stock hood latch.  Aftermarket latches are recommended for maximum safety, regardless of style.
