Aftermarket cam gears replace the factory cam gears and add the benefit of adjustment.  Adjusting camshaft timing can help maximize the performance of your vehicle’s engine.  Additionally, camshaft timing can be used to tailor power characteristics to a certain RPM range.  For race cars, this means the ability to tune the engine for high-rpm power.  Even a stock engine can see gains from cam timing adjustment, but gains are typically larger on vehicles with modified engines.
