Turbo timers

Turbo chargers reach extremely high temperatures during operation.  To reduce wear and increase the life of your turbocharger it is desirable to let the engine run at idle for a short period after driving the vehicle in boost.  This idle period allows oil and cooler air to circulate through the turbo thereby reducing its temperature.  A turbo-timer allows your engine to idle for a pre-determined amount of time without the need for the driver to remain with the vehicle.  In this manner, the driver is able to continue on to whatever it is he/she is doing while the car cycles through the cool-down process.  The driver can remove the keys from the ignition and lock the vehicle while this process is occurring.  The engine will continue to run at idle until the cool-down period is complete.  At the conclusion of this time period the engine will safely shut itself down.  Many modern cars utilize turbo setups which do not require a turbo timer, so please contact us to determine if this is a necessity or not.
