Coilovers

Coilovers are typically characterized by a threaded or sleeved shock pre-fitted with a coil spring.  Usually, they are a bolt on affair and they allow height adjustability.  The quality, features, and performance of coilovers varies greatly.  Whether you are building a car for the street, track, or both, there is a likely a coilover kit that suits your needs.  Unfortunately, many coilover setups feature attractive specifications on paper, but utilize poor quality shocks that result in a harsh ride. Although stiff spring rates happen to be a trend among aftermarket coilovers, a quality shock can help an otherwise stiff spring setup still feel compliant on the street.
