Intercoolers and piping

Intercoolers function to cool the charged air from a turbocharger before it is ingested by the engine.  The cooler this air is the more power your engine can safely produce.  If the air entering the motor is too hot, it presents a risk for detonation and consequently reduces the boost pressure that the engine can safely accept.  The addition of an aftermarket intercooler allows your engine to produce more power with greater reliability.  The diameter of the piping and size of an intercooler is dependent on the boost pressure and power level of the engine.  We strive to carry the brands who have done proper testing on their products to ensure that flow is actually improved over stock piping setups.
