Increasing the power output of your engine requires more fuel. The factory fuel system on your vehicle is able to accommodate a mild increase in fuel demand. When adding any significant power to an engine it will be necessary to upgrade the fuel system to accommodate the increasing demand for fuel. The two most common fuel system upgrades are fuel injectors and fuel pumps. A larger fuel pump supplies more fuel to your injectors and larger injectors are capable of supply more fuel to your engine – they work in tandem. In high-horsepower cars it may also be necessary to upgrade the fuel lines to accommodate the increased volume of fuel required by the engine.
