Performance camshafts allow you to increase the lift and duration of your cam.  Higher lift increases airflow to the engine resulting in increased power.  Increased duration shifts the power curve to the right which allows the engine to make more power higher in the RPM range.  This is especially beneficial in race applications where the engine spends most of its time at high RPM.  When increasing the lift of your cam one should also consider piston to valve clearances.  When increasing the duration of a cam it is wise to also upgrade the valve springs and retainers to handle the extra stress of higher RPM power.  For aggressive cam choices, please contact us to ensure that any additional valvetrain requirements are fulfilled.
